We had a FABULOUS trip to Rocky Ridge Orchard and had a delicious apple and doughnut. We picked up a small pumpkin and will paint it in art class next week! The hay ride was so much fun. We also brought home a bag of apples and will make a warm applesauce next week.  Thank you for those who were able to join us on this grand adventure!

In math we are getting to know numbers 0-10, sorting, discussing a graph, using math manipulatives, 10 frames,  finger counting, working with shapes and continuing our calendar routines. 

Our Go2Science mission continues as we keep looking for clues to support our hypothesis in Wyoming. Beth and Curtis sure are giving us a lot of information and finding so much evidence for us to be thinking about. 

We are learning about the Woolwich Way! The Woolwich Way is made up of 6 qualities that will help us to be the best we can be! There is a fun October Reading challenge coming home today! This is purely for fun!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar sequencing game

We ate like the Very Hungry Caterpillar today! Munching our way through apples, pears, plums, strawberries, oranges, and watermelon (and maybe some spinach?)

In science we continue to learn about the life cycle of the butterfly. We have no caterpillars still munching, many still in chrysalis, and we have released 3!  We hope to release the rest of them for their flight to Mexico before the cold weather sets in! We have learned so much about the caterpillar life cycle! Next week we will begin learning about apples and their life cycle.

We started our Go2Science mission about Dinosaurs in Wyoming this week. We are in search of evidence for our hypothesis: There are dinosaur fossils in the Bighorn Basin. Was Deinonychus there? If you don't know about Go2Science yet, you are soon going to know a lot about it!!! Fun!

Books: Cont. re-reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar,  enjoying LOTS of other Eric Carle books, Gotta Go! Gotta Go! (a book about a little caterpillar and her journey), and some fun ABC books. We are also using our book boxes daily and developing good reading skills.

In science we continue to learn about the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly. They are all currently in chrysalis form.  Hopefully they will think about becoming butterflies soon so we can release them for their flight to Mexico before the cold weather sets in! We are learning and observing so much about the caterpillar life cycle!
