March 29, 2024

Hello!

It was so nice to be able to meet face-to-face with so many of you at parent/teacher conferences! Thank you!

Well, although our graphing data shows that our ratio of Lion weather and Lamb weather is equal (we only track school days), March has certainly felt more like a lion! Just ask me about my flooded basement-again...

We have had a focused week on all of our areas of curriculum, with a lot of "fun" Easter projects, books, and videos. Enjoying The Velveteen Rabbit and The Tale of Peter Rabbit are perennial favorites!

Ending this week with an end of trimester assembly and book buddies. Hopefully we will be able to get outside next week!

Happy Easter to you all~

Sarah

Rabbit! Rabbit!

It has been such a focused and busy week and we have been busy and engaged in some great learning!

Hello Families!

As we are 108 days into the school year our supplies are getting tired! Please send in 2 glue sticks and a new package of washable markers with your child... Thank you!!!!

This week we have started our weather observations at a deeper level and trying to decide if the weather outside is a lion or a lamb as the old saying goes. Some days have been both and that realization has led to many scientific conversations between the students. They are acute observers!

Reading/Writing: We have enjoyed learning and reading about the importance of taking care of our teeth this week as well as some stories related to weather. The difference between fiction and non-fiction has been discussed.

Math: Combinations of 10, graphing data, identifying, comparing and creating various shapes, working with teen numbers, analyzing solutions to problems presented in word problems, and continuing our calendar routines. We are all surprised that today is the 108th day of school!

Assessment: Assessments in every area are being conducted at this point and students are working harder than ever in order to get them done. I dislike the amount of "testing" I need to do, but in the end it does show me (and you) the incredible growth in your children. I am so proud of them!

A couple of housekeeping things...

Please make sure your child has an extra set of dry clothes to keep here. The snow/melting/freezing/wetness makes it very likely we will get our clothes wet and no one enjoys sitting in wet clothes. Also, a pair of extra shoes so we aren't stomping around in uncomfortable footwear. We go outside twice a day and while there is any snow at all, it is a great idea for snow pants, boots, and all other outside gear~winter is far from over!

Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming up! Please keep those peepers open for the sign up sheet. I can't wait to talk to you about how AMAZING your child is! (As if you didn't know)

Upcoming Events:

March 15- No School- Professional Development Day

March 21- Parent/Teacher Conferences~Both 21st and 22nd are 1/2 days of school!
