Good-Bye, January!!!! Hello February! (Rabbit...Rabbit- say that to your children first thing in the morning and they will be so impressed that you know our little code for celebrating the 1st day of a new month)! Happy Groundhog Day on Saturday...Come on Phil~Do your stuff!

We have been learning so much about French Polynesia, sharks, and reef health with our Go2Science mission! We have 2 weeks left to test our hypothesis.  If you are on Facebook you can check out the Go2Science page to keep up to date with what we have been working on.

During writing time we are working on adding to sentence stems and talking about proper nouns. They are learning to add details to their pictures to make their writing even more exciting!

In math we are working with teen numbers, formation of numbers, making pictures to match the number written, addition and subtraction practice, counting by 5s and 10s, working with probability through dice games, reading and creating graphs.  Our routines at calendar time include; counting to the calendar number of the day, weather observations, tallies, coins, patterns, and tracking the number of days we have been in school and days of the week.

We are learning about the Woolwich Way! The Woolwich Way is made up of 6 qualities that will help us to be the best we can be! (Courtesy- I can use good manners, Compassion-I can help others, Respect- I can treat others kindly, Honesty-I can tell the truth, Responsibility- I can take care of myself and my stuff, Quality- I can do my best even when things are hard)

If you would like to send in Kleenex or Clorox wipes, we are quickly running out! Thank you!

Dear Families,

We have read a great many versions of the Gingerbread Man (boy, girl, baby, etc.) and are enjoying the similarities and differences in the outcome of the gingerbread being.  Talking about the different characters and settings has also been part of this process. You had a gingerbread project come home this week. The ones that have come in are simply delightful! If you haven't completed the project, no worries! Send your Gingerbread person in if/when you do!

We have been learning so much about French Polynesia and reef health/shark health with our newest Go2Science mission! Our hypothesis for this adventure is: "There are more sharks around healthy coral reefs." If you are on Facebook you can check out the Go2Science page to keep up to date with what we have been working on.

In math we are working with teen numbers, formation of numbers, making pictures to match the number written, addition and subtraction practice, telling and acting out number stories, counting by 10s,  subitizing practice, and reading graphs.  Our routines at calendar time include; counting to the calendar number of the day, weather observations, ten frames, tallies, money, patterns, solving addition problems, and tracking the number of days we have been in school.
