Wow! Last Friday of February!!! Happy March on Sunday! (Rabbit! Rabbit!) 

Hoping everyone had a fun February Vacation! We have had a VERY busy week since coming back from that break. The trimester is ending in a couple of weeks and it will be time to meet again at parent/teacher conferences~keep an eye out for the sign-up times for that day. I can't wait to share with you all of the growth your students have made since the last time we chatted. I'm so proud of them! 

We are running low on tissues and Clorox -type wipes if you would be able to donate either to the classroom, our little germ-fighting powers would be ever so thankful!

Heggerty Phonemic Awareness: Initial Sounds, Sound Blending, Medial Sounds, Segmenting, Adding Initial Sounds, Deleting Initial Sounds, Substituting Initial Sounds, Blending with Boxes

UFLI:  Making words with and working with letters and sounds: all short vowel vc and cvc wordsIntroduced words with 4 sounds by adding an -s at the end of a word to make the word plural (cat, cats), letter Kk and Hh introduced. Words reviewed:the, I, and, a, is, as, said, to, do, of, see

Bridge to Writing: Targets this week: I can name parts of a sentence, I can name who or what the sentence is about, I can name the action word, or verb, in a sentence, I can write and share 2 sentences that rhyme.  

We are finished our Galapagos Islands mission and voted as a class that we didn't find enough proof that our hypothesis could be proven. Our next  Go2Science mission starts soon and will focus on  capybaras~stay tuned! 

Reveal Math: Targets this week: I can solve subtraction equations within 5, I can explain how to solve subtraction equations  within 5, I can make 6 & 7 in different ways, I can explain how to make 6 & 7 in different ways, I can decompose 6 & 7 in different ways, I can explain how to decompose 6 & 7 in different ways.

We are learning about the Woolwich Way! The Woolwich Way is made up of 6 qualities that will help us to be the best we can be! We are continuing to learn a lot of new information about the Galapagos Islands and all of the interesting animals and plant life there in our Go2Science mission. Next week is our final week to see if our hypothesis is true or false!
